United Motorcoach Association (UMA) Vision Award

 Atlanta, GA – The United Motorcoach Association (UMA), in an effort to nationally recognize one outstanding motorcoach company annually, has honored Storer Transportation with its 2016 Vision Award (Large Operator Category).  This prestigious award is given to one company in the nation who embodies the vision and commitment to lead the motorcoach industry into the future.

Voted on by industry peers, representatives of UMA’s 900 coach company members, 250 manufacturer and supplier associate members, the Vision Award recipient must be regarded as the best and the brightest in the industry. Sound business practices, impeccable safety records, innovative operations approach, social responsibility, community dedication, industry leading vision and breakthroughs are among the attributes the Vision Award recipient must possess. Storer was noted upon receiving the award as a company which elevates the standards for all motorcoach companies as well as the overall profile of the motorcoach industry as a whole.

Founded in 1952 by Walter & Gladys Storer who submitted a bid to transport special needs children in two (2) 1947 Packard limousines that were painted yellow and converted into school buses. The founders vision has continued as Storer still contracts with school districts to provide school bus transportation services to special needs students throughout California. Today, Storer Transportation operates over 650 buses and has expanded its services to include charter, transit, school, and commuter bus services. In 2001, Storer had one (1) terminal location. Today, Storer operates in ten (10) terminal locations throughout California including its latest addition, a full-service charter and commuter contract operation in San Francisco, California. In the Bay Area alone, Storer provides nearly 50 daily, commuter-style fixed-route services to some of the most well-known companies in the world.
